Ron's Priorities for Cocoa

Ron Chabot is focused on practical, community-centered priorities that support Cocoa's residents, families, youth, businesses, and future growth.

Priority 1

Responsible Growth

Ron supports responsible growth that works for both residents and businesses. Growth should strengthen Cocoa while protecting neighborhoods, quality of life, and the long-term needs of the community. Ron wants development decisions to be transparent, community-informed, and measured — ensuring new projects enhance the city rather than strain its infrastructure or displace long-time residents. He will advocate for a planning process where District 4 neighbors have a real voice.

Priority 2

Parks & Recreation

Ron believes strong parks and recreation opportunities are essential for families, youth, and community pride. He wants to support improvements to parks, Cocoa Little League, and programs that give young people positive places to grow. Ron sees investment in parks not as optional spending but as foundational to neighborhood quality of life. From Little League fields to walking paths, he wants District 4 families to have spaces they're proud of.

Priority 3

Water, Environment & Lagoon Protection

Ron supports efforts to protect Cocoa's water resources, improve environmental responsibility, and contribute to lagoon cleanup and long-term stewardship. The Indian River Lagoon is one of Brevard's most important natural assets — Ron believes the city must be a committed partner in its restoration and protection. He will support policies that reduce runoff, improve water quality, and keep Cocoa's waterways healthy for generations to come.

Priority 4

Economic Development

Ron believes Cocoa should support local businesses, encourage opportunity, and create an environment where responsible investment benefits the community. He wants economic growth to feel like an opportunity for residents — not something that happens to them. Ron will advocate for policies that keep local businesses competitive, attract quality investment, and ensure District 4 shares in Cocoa's economic future.

Priority 5

Listening to Residents

Ron believes elected officials should listen first, stay accessible, and make decisions with the citizens of Cocoa in mind. A council member who shows up, returns calls, and attends neighborhood meetings is one who can actually be held accountable. Ron's commitment is to be that kind of representative for District 4 — present, approachable, and responsive.

Priority 6

Teamwork on Council

Ron wants to promote teamwork among council members so the city can focus on solutions, accountability, and progress. Cocoa deserves a council that collaborates rather than stalls — one that can set aside differences and move the city forward together. Ron's decades of team leadership in business and community service have prepared him to be that unifying voice on the council.

Leadership Rooted in Service

Ron Chabot is running for Cocoa City Council District 4 because he believes public service starts with listening, teamwork, and showing up for the community. His background in the U.S. Army, decades of business leadership, and years of civic involvement have prepared him to serve with discipline, accountability, and heart.

Ron wants to help move Cocoa forward by supporting families, improving parks and recreation, encouraging responsible growth, and keeping residents at the center of every decision.

“Real leadership means serving people, working together, and always putting the community ahead of politics.”  - Ron Chabot
